Children of production, present bop guns!

...as chosen by Dr. Funkenstein, who has apparently noticed that there was no new Throwdown topic for this week.

Here is how Dr. Funkenstein sees this one going down.

Funkatize! Aquaboogie splank!

I guess that is fairly straightforward.

Some Pitmaster T and barbefunkoramaque posts might help in case you are confused.

Click here to read the rules for the BBQ Brethren Throwdown...

You may submit entries that are cooked from Friday 1/27 through Sunday 2/5.

Entry pictures must be submitted by Midnight Central US Time on Sunday night 2/5.

By submitting entry photos to this Throwdown thread you are agreeing that you have read and understand the Throwdown Rules.

The voting will begin Monday 2/6 after the "Vote" thread is submitted and will run through Sunday 2/12. All votes will be public.

Don't forget, you can still enter the "Street Food" Throwdown until Monday night 1/30 by midnight Central time.

Our next category will be decided by the winner of the "Saucy" Throwdown!

Best of luck and even better eats to all!

I ain't been funky in years, lemme get out my GCS and get some funk going down

This should be interesting... Many different ways to go with this.

Funky-
  • Having a moldy or musty smell. Fumunda cheese.
  • Having a strong, offensive, unwashed odor. Mongo on the weekends.
  • Of or relating to music that has an earthy quality reminiscent of the blues. See posts above.
  • Combining elements of jazz, blues, and soul and characterized by syncopated rhythm and a heavy, repetitive bass line. See above.
  • Earthy and uncomplicated. Eggplant or shrooms.
  • Characterized by originality and modishness. New dish from Bob Brisket.
  • Outlandishly vulgar or eccentric in a humorous or tongue-in-cheek manner. Colonel and Gore's wheelhouse.

Yay, Al is coming over to cook in my wheelhouse :clap2:

Wait, maybe I am reading that wrong. Does this mean that I have to cook Al's entry for him this week? Besides, I didn't even know I had a wheelhouse. I will have to go look for it.

You read it wrong... :tsk:

You are doing a three-way with Gore and your GF in the wheelhouse when you find it... :heh:

See you in the PB.

Very perceptive analysis! :thumb:

This one in particular stood out:

  • Earthy and uncomplicated. Eggplant or shrooms.
Perhaps some eggplant & mushroom nachos are in order! If that's not funky, I don't know what is...

Here's my funky sandwich for the Funky Throwdown.

Fajita Chicken Panini with home made chipotle mayo, spinach, pepper jack cheese and tomatoes. A side salad of spinach, red onion and strawberry's with poppy seed dressing. OH MAN was it good. OH I should mention, the bread was a home made French Bread. Also, my daughter came up with the idea, I just executed.

The first pic is for the competition, the rest are for drooling purposes only.
