Default 42" RF Smoker Build

I stopped by the steel yard today for my first order.





I asked for 42"x20"x1/4" pipe. When I got it home, I put a mic on it and it is actually 3/8" thick. Score! I will take back the 1/4" plate for the firebox and get some 3/8". Can't wait to get to cutting and welding!

20" is awfully small, especially for a RF.

1/4" is fine for the firebox.

Bubba could be right 20 " isn't very big
think I would do some type of direct heat. But then again it your smoker and do what you like

Not really. The Lang 36" Patio RF is 21.5" in diameter. I am only cooking for family and friends, so 20"x42" is a perfect size for me.

I'm just sayin thats a LOT of work your going to put into hand building a smoker to end up with such a small unit.

24" minimum if you want a second shelf.
