I would like to get a weed burner for BBQ and for melting ice...

I know some people swear by harbor freight but what other options are there. I would like one that I can screw the tiny bottle straight into it so I don't have to lug a big tank around

Neighbor swears by these, and made in usa. I actually heard the harbor freight ones were just okay, but for 13.99...

Forgot to say my local options are amazon home depot and Menards along with sears Walmart etc.

I've been looking at the red dragons

Using it to melt ice is a good excuse to get one, but I find salt works better and cost a lot less. I have the harbor freight one and it is sufficient, especially for the money. I think a better question would be who here does not own one?

From the link indicated above. Looks like you are interested in the Mini Dragon:

I've got the big one from HF, and I love it. It'll certainly start a fire quickly. I got the kind with a push button ignitor. I don't actually burn weeds though, and don't get enough cold weather to need to melt ice.

Me. I love starting up my chimney.

Not a weed burner but a simple torch.

$23 at my local ACE Hardware.

Striker igniter model.

It's been working great starting lump and wood chunks. Handy.

Betcha the list would be shorter who doesn't hsave one.
Its a very popular BBQ essential.

How long you think the harbor freight one would last??

I have the HF one with the ignition for at least three years and it still works just fine.:thumb:
