I'm finding the stainless steel is a great insulator so far but i figured it couldn't hurt making a jacket for it since i was making one for my UDS. The stuff is rated for 250* working temp and it has mostly dead air space between it the smoker so even if i'm cooking at 350 it shouldn't get that hot on outside of the smoker.

The air intakes are still able to breath as well and i can access the food. I'm in the process of making one for the UDS and will post that as well. I'll fire the UDS up tonight for a test run.

It's just a slip on so no cords to hold it in place.

Looks nice! It's important to protect your jimmy from the elements! :-D

Ok guys and gals...SUCCESS! It's 25* outside with 8 windchill and i ran the UDS up to 405* and i'm bumping it down to 275 so i can smoke some rib tips.

The drum is snug as a bug in a rug! :biggrin1:

I might have to steal your idea with all this damn wind around here.

Tonights meal for the temp test....Pile O Tips!

Mini winter jacket....I'm cooking a fatty bird hence the white smoke. ;)

Dont think it needs a winter coat today.

Nice looking dogs you got there.
