Had a party for about 50 people so the wife said make pulled pork. Set up at 10:30 on Friday night, pulled at 3:30 Saturday and wrapped in foild and towel and put into a cooler to rest for 3 hours.

The result was amazing. Had one native of North Carolina and one from KC tell me it was some of the best BBQ they ever had.

Thanks to the brethren who gave me the idea for the extra rack. couple of stainless steel bolts and washers with a $10 weber grate and voila; I was able to double the capacity in my egg!

Very nice! I'm going to do that to my Egg. I love it, but the capacity sucks.

Can you post the details of what you used (bolt size, washer size, etc.) and what you did to get that extra grate in there?

So I bought a weber charcoal grate from Lowes. It is roughly 17" diameter so it is slightly smaller than the grid for the large big green egg.

Then I bought 4 all thread 6" stainless steel bolts; 16 stainless steel nuts; and 12 stainless steel washers

I connected and tightend the grid using the washers and bolts at the top and then set another washer at the bottom for the new grid to rest on top

worked perfect and the 6" bolt allows it to be adjusted. may be another one to do ad a third layer for ribs.

Interstingly, the shoulders on top actually cooked a bit faster which surprised me.

They were 1" washers. I would go a bit larger next time. 1 1/4 would be perfect.
