Help with my Mini UDS

Not getting clean burns with my mini, this is the charcoal basket the next day. It’s choking its self out the ash is clogging my air in. anyone dealt with this? Do I need to add another dampener?

Buy a Small SS pet food bowl Drill 6 1/2' holes around the circumference close to the bottom and drill about a dzn 1/4" holes in the bottom. put the dish over the intake sit the basket on top. I helps to use lump also Less ash.

Cover the vent holes with a 4" diameter tin can with holes punched out at the sides.

you can use a large chicken or tuna can, use a church key along the top and your good to go. put it over the bottom vent and BAM!! found this pick from another brethren.

Like this. I cut this out from the large 80oz can of Bush's Beans.

I use the same mod as above. I took a can and punched holes around the bottom with a church key. The ash will build up along the sides of the can but won't block the air flow.
