Flank steak with a whisky marinade
For the spirited throwdown:
I love flank steak, it's one of my favorite things to grill. I love whisky too. And we've finally got some decent weather! So... I made a whisky citrus marinade. Got a nice CAB flank steak, scored on both sides. Into the marinade. Made a loaf of fresh bread. Onto the grill, along with a bunch of veggies. Resting before slicing. And the finished meal. Very tasty!

Sure! I used equal parts whisky, lime juice, orange juice, and soy sauce. Plus some oil, cumin, garlic, and a little honey. It was not sweet but the honey takes the edge off of the citrus.
I've never cooked with rye before, but it has a strong flavor and I thought it would be good in a marinade, which it was. My family all said they liked it, and didn't know there was whisky in it.
