Hey folks,

Any suggestions on where to purvey some "special" quality beef for my Christmas Eve dinner with the in-laws? I usually get the stuff on sale at Publix, and it turns out just fine, but definitely not GREAT.

I'd like to get some ideas of where to order something online since I don't have any "real" butcher shops nearby. They all use primals and don't carry any kind of prime beef.

Thoughts brethren?

P.S. Not too worried about the $$$ this time so let's not discuss the relative value of prime for USDA Choice etc. Just your thoughts on the best beef available.

There HAS to a real butcher somewhere near Jacksonville?

Mine is able to get a real nice prime rib with a few days notice, but its not cheap....seasoned and re-tied will cost about $15+/lb. Im guessing.

Just tell them how many you want to serve, how you plan on cookng it etc and they leave the right amount of fat on it etc. Worth it for special occasions when Im busy and want to be able to just pick it up and start cooking.

Good Luck!
