So I spent a lot of time looking for drums. I spoke to several drum re-conditioners who told me not to go for a reconditioned drum and instead go for for a new one if I was going to cook in the drum. I asked them where to go and they pointed me to Rahway Steel Drum Co., Inc. http://rahwaysteeldrum.com/. What's funny is Rahway Steel Drum's prices were lower than the reconditioned drums. I got $30 for new seconds, ie drums with minor cosmetic problems, or $40 for perfect new drums. I can't see a good reason to do used drums if you can get new ones for $30. I feel like this sounds like a commercial but this is a real story.

Michael Guttridge was the guy who helped me out. Sue was the lady who answered the phone. Tell them Sam sent you if you can. Mike's email address is mguttridge@rahwaysteeldrum.com. Phone number is 732-382-0113.

Here's my posts so you can see a drum from them as well.... http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showthread.php?t=96545

Absolutly, I spent 15 for a used drum but would have spent 30 for a new one in a heart beat!

I almost went 50 miles out for used drums for $5 a piece. Then got half depressed when I found out they were sold. When I found out I could get these for $30 new I was shocked.
