You'd be surprised that most have no clue what a Tri-Tip is either. People think Tony Romas is good bbq. And they asked me for steak sauce when I hosted a party and grilled wagyu ribeyes. I almost threw him out.

I think that the availability of cut varies dramatically over the regions. I know that when I go to a Sams in CA versus NM or TX that the offerings and cuts are very different. My friend in CA can't find cuts for brisket that are standard here in town.

Well, hopefully, he didn't ask for it to be well done, also. Next time, keep his Wagyu in the fridge and give him the Walmart "special value" ribeye!

The Sam's Club in Temecula Ca has been carrying them for a couple of years now.

Oddly enough, I can only find whole packers at Walmart right now. My local Sam's Club only carries flats. *shrug*

I was just about to post nasty about how his Sam's might but mine doesn't. I guess I'm going to have to go check it out. In three years, I've only ever seen overpriced flats around here.

I'm at fresh manager at Sam's. We always have whole packers, but don't put them in the case. Everyday demand isn't there but I take care of my members by keeping a few cases in the cooler.

When I've asked guys in the meat department if they have whole packer briskets, they look at me like I just said something to them in Portuguese. Maybe I'm asking the wrong people.

We all know that Costco has been selling prime for 3.79 a pound and I think I would rather have the prime but its good to know that us So Cal guy's might have another place to choose our briskets from.

COSTCO BRISKET
Seen that same brisket last night too. Hope they start stocking them soon.

Try asking for choice brisket or point on brisket. If they are clueless ask for the meat lead or manager and see if it is available for them to order out of their distribution center.

They had two. But then I bought one. (Actually I think there might have been three.) I was there a couple days ago and saw nothing but flats.

My Sam's has a decent selection of briskets. My last one was just a small 6lb flat, but I think they had choice as well.

I have a 18.9 pound brisket I just picked up from sams for a smoke next weekend! Pretty easy to find around here for us though.

Sams club in southern ohio has carried choice brisket for as long as I can remember. Sams is the only place around my area I will buy brisket anymore. Best value and quality in the area.

Nope. No brisket today at the Woodridge, IL location. But, I hadn't seen the suggestion to ask yet. I'll have to try that next time.
