Ok guys and gals. As y'all saw earlier in the year I enclosed a trailer I had, to do the Sams comps. Well it's the off season for me now Lena my trusty stick burner is now over at my future BBQ joint and I have a Junior ordered. I am gonna finish out the interior of the trailer putting in nice wallboard and just making it functional the one thing I want to do is mount a table on the wall so when not in use it can fold up or down. Saving space when not in use. What do y'all think is the best way to do this? I am working in a 6x8 area so space is important. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Not sure what others will suggest, and there are not really any BBQ battle wagons in these parts to compare to, but I'd always thought of using folding shelf brackets or table legs similar to these. I have a 6x10 with ramp and side door.

Seen cart racers with work/bunk benches with fold down tables mounted on the trailer walls with these.

Will be watching this thread for ideas!

I would prefer to build it probably be a little cheaper and I can tailor it to fit my needs. Probably be the size of one of those small folding tables

I have one of these in my basement. I'm going to have to move a couch since it's folded down with a couch in front of it, but I will take some pics and post them up shortly.

Ok here it is:
Folded down, its 1" off the wall. construction uses 1/2" ply.

Folded up. Mounted height is adjusted by where you screw the hinges for the work surface into the wall, and how tall you make your legs.

Shot of underside, how it's constructed. Work surface hinged off the wall, and then the legs are obviously one is at the front corner of the table, the other leg is mounted back a little further so when they fold up they lay flat. You could make this out of lots of different kinds of materials, or make it out of thicker ply with a stainless top..etc....

This table was built here when i moved in, but If I were going to build it it would cost me a sheet of ply and 4 hinges. about 20-25$ total. Hope this helps!

edit: also I tried searching but do you have any pics of the trailer you built?

awesome! glad I could help out, can't wait to see the finished interior!

Tburda,

Looks like Gary Larson was drawing on that table. ;)

hah, I've never actually used it since I lived here. i had it set up with a chess set on it for a while, but we never used it. So I folded it up and used the space along that wall for a sectional.
