Default MRS KAPN's Ham and Cheese biscuits/casserole

She got creative this morning.

Took a package of precooked rolls and cut the whole package in half like a huge sandwich.
Used ham and Monterey Jack cheese, layered in the middle.
Melted 1 stick butter, 1/4 cup sugar, 3 teaspoons of minced onion, and some poppy seeds.
Poured mixture over top.
Covered in foil.
Baked at 350 for 20 min.
Then, removed foil and put under broiler for 3-4 minutes to brown up.

Different and YUMMY!!!!

Now, this is just a twist on a grilled or cooked "Ham and Cheese" sandwich. Not breaking new ground here.
But, it is different and interesting and a nice change.
Easy to make

Next time--more ham or any breakfast meat like sausage, fattie, or whatever you imagination comes up with.
Also--cries out for a layer of egg. Maybe scrambled or fried thin.

Kinda a fun, different breakfast.

looks good Tim..

I agree, a nice layer of scrambled/fried eggs would make a great breakfast.

Kapn, you inspired me to do this today for lunch. Had leftover dinner rolls from Thanksgiving along with my stash of Buckboard Bacon. I shaved both the cheese and buckboard super thin. Buttered the inside and tops of the rolls. They are very yummy. My wife chowed on them throughout the day. She loves the Buckboard Bacon

I too foiled mine for 8 mintues in 400 degree oven. Then removed foil and left in for another 5 minutes.

Thanks for the idea.
