A totally new experiance...
Last Saturday our church held it's first annual Valentine's Dinner Dance. We charged $35.00 per couple for a sit down dinner, dancing, and a photo memento of the evening. This was the first time we've tried a sit down dinner. As a Lutheran church, we know buffets and pot lucks.
So we served 38 dinners of Chicken Florentine with a mushroom cream sauce, and 28 Rosemary Roasted Pork Loin with a Marsala Dried Cherry reduction. Both entrees had crushed rosemary salted new potatoes and buttered carrots. First course was a salad of spring greens, and dessert was a white cake (flavored with almond and orange extract), filled with a raspberry pastry filling and topper with buttercream frosting, with Coldstone Creamery dark chocolate ice cream or key lime frozen yogurt. We completely sold out (limited to 60 tickets this year), and it was a huge success. Thanks to all the Brethren who have pushed me to improve my cooking skills and stretch myself to meet new challenges. Here's a pic of one of the pans of the pork loin...
