Need to make room. UDS VS Brinkman Horizontal
A sad day is approaching me my friends. I have a garage that I keep my grills and smokers in which doubles as my "shop" for projects.
I need to make some room in the garage for some things and since a recent thread http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=108239 sparked my interest in building a shed for my grilling equipment. If I keep my Brinkman horizontal smoker I will use more space for the storage and not gain on cooking space. Therefore, I think I would like to build a UDS and sell my modified stick burner. I have most of the supplies I will need for the UDS so I could come out a bit ahead by selling the horizontal. What would you do in this situation? Go for the UDS? keep the Brinkman? Each has its advantages.

I still have one of those horizontal Brinkmann's myself, and I know if it was my decision to make I would go with the UDS.

I put a piece of 1/2" thick sheet steel in place of the charcoal grates in my Brinkman horizontal and it makes a nice fire proof windbreak for cooking with Dutch ovens. Mine has sat out in the weather for at least 15 years and looks no worse for the wear.
