How many of you cooks are also KCBS judges??
I wish I could judge a little more.. I signed up to
judge New Paltz but never got any word back that was
in.. I wasn't going to drive 3 hrs to find out I wasn't needed
Bummed me out.. Oh well.. Please answer my question.

Thanx

I'm a Judge
Only Judged twice cause I would rather cook but I had no problem getting in.
Contact the contest org way in advance if you can.

Judging

I filled out the App. never heard anything..
All the contests I have judged I got an email from
the contest orginizer or kcbs rep telling all the judges
when to be there and other judging stuff.. I'm not a
newbee when it comes to judging been CBJ since 2000
But cooking is way more fun. I love to feed people. I make
come way cool stuff for people other then the judges.
I made a Lobster stuffed boneless prime rib roast. for us
at Rockin' Ribs in Cowhampshire.... mmm good stuff.

...a Lobster stuffed boneless prime rib roast....

Holy sheep chit...

I judge KCBS and FBA...at most events if you show up you'll be used. I've shown up cold at Plant City, Winter Haven, Wachula, etc. and never been turned down.

I did sign up for the Oct. 13/14 event at Brooksville, FL, and they sent a nice "acceptance" letter along with maps, etc.

Even if you aren't used as a judge I'd make the trip anyway and schmooze for a few hours.

I too judge, but would rather cook. Anyone going to Dover? I'll be cooking with Mark of Hoff Daddy's.

KCBS and FBA Judge.

You can also watch the sig lines. Many of the forum judges have it posted there, especially if they actually judge some.

I've judged once... Next year, I want to judge the American Kobe Beef competition! :)

i've never been to a judging class and have never judged. i'd like to judge a few next year but that may cut into my number i compete in.

Wife Char and I both judge and we just formed a team, so we WILL cook.

Another judge here...

Just a suggestion... It's always a good idea to follow things up like this with an e-mail or call to the contest organizer to confirm they received your initial application.

Not a judge...but the wife and I will take the class in January.

i'm a judge too, but I've only judged non-KCBS events (grilling) so far.....too busy competing in them to judge them! Although I feel as if I judge every time we compete.

we are both judges but we'd much rather cook. Judging doesn't cost enough<G>
