Not only will KCBS membership get you a day pass, but you do not need a RESTAURANT business, just a business. My dad is a wholesaler of silk flowers, he got a card. I know someone who owns his own HVAC company, he has a card. I know someone who is an electrician and is incorporated, he has a card.
You just need paperwork showing a tax ID # and maybe 1-2 other forms - call ahead and ask as to what is needed, but it does not have to be a restaurant business to get a card. |

Well someone likely told you the wrong information:
http://www.restaurantdepot.com/sign-up-for-membership *Restaurant Depot is wholesale only. To qualify for a free membership account, on your first visit you need to show a valid reseller's permit (business license) or tax-exempt certificate (for a non-profit organization) and show proof that you are authorized to purchase for said business or organization. Nothing in there about being a food related business, if you have a reseller's permit you should be good to go. Fill out that form online, then go to your local store to pick up your membership card. |
