Default End of season clearance

Brothers, this is the time of the year to keep your eyes open for the end of the season clearance stuff. Just take a stroll down the seasonal aisle of your local supermarket, and drug stores. These are great places to find 25 – 75 % off BBQ, and out door items.
I just picked up a hibachi for $7.49. I know they’re not the best small grills like the Smokey Joe Silver, but for that price I couldn’t say no. There was one more left, I should have grabbed that one too.
Last year a local CVS had Kingsford (9# bags) for half price. I loaded as much as the shopping cart could hold.
Good luck Brothers, and happy clearance shopping.

Any way to use that as a charcoal basket in a UDS?

One of the nice things about the Hibachi is you can work with it! Cheap and funky as they may be, they're great with skewered meats and veggies, and if your just cooking for one person...

I just stopped in at the local Ace Hardware and they were having a 25% End of Season sale on grill items, gotta make way for the Christmas decorations!!

I've found some great grilling/bbq-ing stuff at TJ-Max. I've got some of my best spatulas and tongs there and even got this medieval mop brush that has little chains on the end instead of a material. It looks more like an S&M sex toy than a bbq tool (it was one of those things I just had to buy) Their stuff is always sitting on some clearance table but the soccer mom's never give it a second glance.

My buddy has a mop like that too. We leave it on the table at comps, when Joe Blow asks what it's for we tell them it's to hit people that try to touch the food! It gets a good reaction.

Now, just because this is Texas, it don't mean there ain't no clearance sales... Over the past few of years, I've scored a number of items on the clearance aisle... Mostly at Target stores... I picked up a Weber 22 1/2" kettle for $30. Two Weber GoAnywhere table top gassers for $20 each, and multiple Weber charcoal chiminies for <$6 and just last year picked up a few Smokey Joes for between $10 and $15... Just gotta keep an eye our for the sales and be there at the right time...

James.
