somebody shut me the fark up.
Hi folks...I have a question...If a team wins a "qualifying" event in another state or country...does the "bung" count for your home state...or the state / country you won it in? Thanks!

JD
It counts for the draw in the state in which the contest was won.
HOWEVER
It could also come into play for home-state rep. JD likes to have a representative team from each state, so if the draw in a state was won by an out-of-state team, there is a subsequent draw among qualifying teams that are based in that state, to be the home-state team.
Example: in 2008 we had bung #121 for a contest won in California, and were not drawn for California.
Our home state Arizona's draw was an out-of-state team who had won a contest in Arizona.
Therefore, a subsequent draw of qualifying Arizona teams was done, and we were the Arizona state rep.
Clear as mud! :becky:
....aaaannnnd, aren't you more than halfway to not worrying about Draw Day at all?
The state you won it in.
Plan on doing some traveling J.D.? :becky:
We had both KCBS and IBCA contests in our 7 last year -- if it's a qualifier, it's a qualifier....is there any preference given to winning a KCBS sanctioned event as opposed to a local sanctioning body? Or is a bung just a bung regardless of who sanctioned the contest?
