Glad to see this thread resurrected.
A while back I took a pic of all of my WSMs out on the front yard.

And the most resent addition - an "E" code (1983) model 1880 (14.5") WSM.

It has since been cleaned up and stored in the rafters of the garage (hosting a HS football team pre-game meal).

Clark, you've got at least that many kettles too. Where the heck do you put all those cookers!? Great collection by the way!

This is my fine family of WSM smokers:

The daisy wheel 18.5 kettle with the ProQ stacker cooks as well as the others and can make very high temps with ease.

Diggin that handle Mike! I may get one for my kettle....

Glad you WSM guys are getting this thread going again. The WSM is a great cooker. I may not have personal experience, but I've seen pics!...lol I'd like to have one some day, but for now I'm enjoying my PBC.

I still think you wsm guys should try hangin some stuff. I think you'd like it for an alternative way to cook!

We hang stuff.

fwiw - hanging meat is not a new wrinkle. I have friends the were hanging meat in UDS cookers in 2002. I'm sure it was going on long before that. PBC does make nice hooks, though. Prolly make my own if i need more ot them.

Just to be clear I wasn't trying to say anything in a bragging manner about the PBC. Or act like the PBC is some new invention that has never been seen before. I know you didn't say I was, I just want that to be known. The last thing I wanna do is come to this thread and start causing problems. It's a WSM appreciation thread and I know better than to try and take it in a different direction. I respect the reputation the WSM has and would like to cook on one someday.

I understand the "hanging" thing isn't new, I just haven't seen many WSM folks do it and I know it'll work well.

And I just ordered the partyq Bbq guru unit for the 14.5 makes it totally portable, not that the vents don't work great, but the guru does make it even less work and does come to temp faster
