Royal Oak Premium Briquettes

So I tried these out last night. They were pretty good. They lit relatively quickly. A little smoky, but not too bad. No offensive odors with a little bit of sparking. I dumped two chimneys and was able to get 700 on the rail of my grill grates.

It looked like they added sawdust/wood to the blend (like Kingsford does with their specialty charcoal). I thought they were comparable, if not a bit better than RO Red Bag. I still don’t think it’s as good as RO All Natural, but for the price it might be a good one to keep around for most grilling applications. I’m not convinced that I would take it over Cowboy/Stubbs just yet.

Definitely worth the $4 per bag.
