The Most Delicious Oxtail

Ingredients:
Oxtail
1/4 C Stock
Salt
Pepper
2 TBS Honey
1/4 Chopped Onion
4 Cloves Chopped Garlic
Pinch Rosemary
Pinch Thyme
1/4 C White Wine
1 Shot Brown Liqure


Method:
Rub all ingredients (proportions to taste) on the oxtail. Set smoker / grill to 250°F. Cook around 4 ~ 5 hours or until pull apart tender. I ended up wrapping around the 4 hour mark. They were starting to get a little on the dark side.

The meat can get very tender, very much like an ultra rich pulled pork with many great levels of flavor.
 
I definitely need to do some Ox Tails, thanks for sharing.
 
Been doing oxtail for years on the grill, same with pork hocks too. Tremendous flavor profile. Don't understand why most people wont eat it.
 
I think it's because most people don't really know what it is, kind of like
sweetbread being the thymus gland in the neck :). The oxtail cut doesn't resemble anything most people grab like a steak or rib or roast or shank. Though, if you line all the oxtail up in a row you can clearly see it is (drum roll) the tail (in most cases from cow not ox as that's a working animal).
 
They are great, and good also roasted.
