I have a friend(wifes coworker) that wants me to cook some ribs and pulled pork for their party on Sat. There will be about 15 people there. some teenagers mostly adults. I was thinking 6 racks of baby backs and around 18 - 20 lbs pre-cooked weight pork. Does this sound like a good amount?
I did search and could not really find a good answer.
And price for it ?

You should get about 30 sandwiches from the pork, assuming 10 lbs post cook and 1/3 lbs per sandwich. Take that to 20 if you want bigger sandwiches. Ribs, I'd guess a few ribs per person on top of that, maybe quarter slabs, so you'd have 24 servings of ribs.

Your friends should eat very well.

Price depends on the arrangements and how good your friendship is. :) If it's purely business, 4 times your meat costs at a guess.

If this is more business than friendship, I'd have them buy the meat and you cook it, so that you're doing this as a personal chef, not as a caterer.

seems like ALOT of food. ummmm where is this party again?:biggrin::biggrin:
