Brethren, it looks like Mel's BBQ Grill Covers may be out of business, which is a shame because I have two of their covers, and I think those things may outlive me...the custom cover they made for my CS-680 weighed 14 lbs to ship!

Anyone have any info on these guys? Or does anyone have a source for a place that makes heavy duty grill & smoker covers? My neighbor has a new rig and it needs a cover, and those cheap thin things I see everywhere won't survive an Iowa winter.

I know someone who can sew you one out of the kind of heavy duty vinyl used to make commercial grade tents (like for fireworks stands). PM me if you want to pursue.

I'm pleased to report that Mel is indeed in business. I had purchased one of her covers for my smoker, and was disheartened when I read the report she was no longer making covers. But I took a chance and called, Mel answered, is is now making me a grill cover. She explained that when she and her business partner broke up, she was for a time unable to take orders, but has now reorganized and is back in business. This is good - she makes a great cover.

Mel is not out of business. I just ordered a cover in mid April from her. I received it last week.

Here it is.

Hmm I need a cover for my new kamado table I built. Is there a website or number to call? How pricey is she?

Mel's covers are first class in every way. I paid $77 delivered for the cover on my LSG shown above. All I did was take a few pics and some dimensions and e-mailed them to her. When she got the e-mail she called me and verified all the info. I gave her my card # and three weeks later my cover arrived.
