Is it a mini wsm or a mini UDS?

My pot.

The bottom cut out.

Diffuser and 2 grates installed.

Basket welded up.

Mix of KBB and RO lump.

And some chicken parts.

So what is it? I consider it a mini UDS.

Yes sir, a mini can be made to work like a WSM or UDS....i prefer the UDS. Let the flavor go to the coals.

newbe question. Why cut the bottom out if you are going to add a diffuser with holes drilled in it. Why not just drill the holes in the bottom of the pot?

A few reasons...one is distance between the fire and diffuser, it's nice to be able to remove the diffuser for cleaning and it get's good draw with this design.
