Default New C/L find Bandera clone !!

I have been scouting C/L for a bandera type Vertical Offset for a few months. Yesterday this popped up for $100. I offered $60. and it was a done deal.It is a fully welded unit bought from Academy. Lit it up tonight with half chimney of mesquite lump and the chicken was great. I will be doing the typical mods of fire brick and charcoal basket but i noticed the door is leaky . My big question is what is the best way to make a gasket for the door?

I had the exact smoker... Sold it on CL for $200 in a few days. U got a good price.

I used tin foil around the doors. Worked great.

Default New toy loaded

3:00 pm loaded the vertical smoker for its first smoke.
4-butts , 12-bratwurst , 1 rack of spares.
Lit up with a chimney of blue kingsford , minion .
And a sizable chunk of hickory.
Sure is leaky. Will need to gasket this thing out for sure.

Default 5-hours in

Nothing like a night-time smoke on a chilly evening in Texas.
Feeding it hickory sticks and mesquite lump.
