Default UDS Part Deaux

Built a 2nd UDS for a guy who saw mine. I told him he could build one, but he wanted me to. This is a UGA themed one. Has handmade no-weld charcoal basket, adjustable shelving rack, bottle opener, and the adjustable intake vents on the side.

Thanks! The main reason for all that hardware is that the ball valves were tough to turn, and by attaching them tightly like that, i can open and close without worrying about messing the pipe up at the bottom.

I love the adjustable rack idea. Can we get a close up of the shelf pins (or whatever you want to call them) that go into the brackets? Thinking about making another UDS (since you can't have just one!) and stealing your idea.

Thanks. I've been thinking it would be nice to have multiple racks closer together when doing things like wings or sausages but i didn't want to have a bunch of bolts every few inches getting in the way. I'm assuming you just use standard shelf brackets cut down but you know what they say about assuming.

Yeah, thats what I did. A 72" brass rail cut into 3rds making it 24" each.

I had to place 2 nuts behind the rail as a spacer so the rack would fit without falling off. Hope these pics help.

Thanks for the pics. I'm going to go with that on my next build. Great design.
