Congrats to Rod..Pellet Envy on being GC......and Scottie...Cancer Sucks on RGC. Fun, but rainy weekend.....but fun... Hope Scottie got back to Chicago without any further log book incidents!!!!
 
I really thought I was getting punk'd... I got out of South Dakota as quickly as possible. I actually hooked up with Pellet Envy and he cleared the roads for our departure...

So I just got off the phone with South Dakota Highway Patrol. Seems they were a little overzealous in giving me a inspection at the Jefferson Port of Entry. While we as competition BBQr's are subject to commercial rules and regulations. The true intent of the rule is for commercial operations. Now if I was vending or selling sauces or rubs at the contest, that would be a completely different matter. He also said that if I had sponsor decals (I did inquire about my big Cancer Sucks! decal that I have on the side of my rig), then all of those rigs need to stop in for inspections and I would highly recommend that you have a Driver's Log and a Medical Certificate with you...

So I have arranged for a trooper escort out to Mt. Rushmore for next summer. As a way for them to make it up to me... :cool:

So just a warning for you all.

ps I really thought I was being punk'd.. Especially when the Officer looked like he was about 14 years old... Good thing I didn't call him on it.. I'd still probably be in jail...
