Can ash be used to smoke with?
Has anyone had any experience with it?
I have heard it burns hot and clean.
Does it produce good Q?

Thanks. I did a search but came up with a lot of info on ash as in ashes and not the hardwood.
How should i have refined my search?

A lot of times it is easier to just do a google search. Brethren threads are covered and Google's search function is more powerful. I found it by searching for "ash smoking wood".

I use it sometimes and it is a great medium flavor smoke, not harsh at all. I did two butts and three briskets in October with a blend of ash and cherry. No problem!

I remember burning baseball bat blanks as a kid when camping. A real tough nut to get going but once going I recall it burned very hot. Scott
