I ordered some weber smoking wood from Amazon. I thought I was ordering chunks, but I ordered chips. Can you use chips on a WSM?

i have not tried. But if I were in your shoes, I might make foil pouches, fill with a fistfull of chips, and poke holes in it. I would think the chips would go 'poof' pretty fast otherwise.

You'd have to put them in a foil pouch and poke holes in the pouch for the smoke to escape. If you put chips directly on the coals they burn pretty quick imparting little smoke flavor.
