Default 2nd Contest results (Band and BBQ Contest)

Well participated in the 3rd annual Bands and BBQ contest and did pretty good for our 2nd contest 1st in Chicken, 2nd in Brisket, 4th in pork butt, 6th in Ribs, my Ribs are killing me.... We came out 3rd overall missing reserve grand champion by 2/3 of a point

Dont have much to wine about, thought I tanked the brisket and ended up doing pretty good. Need some help with the ribs, I'm having a hell of a time with the spares, thinking of changing over to loins instead, any thoughts?

Just sitting back playing the woulda, coulda shoulda game after the contest, espeacially when your as close as we were to running away with the whole thing. But know that we placed well and have some bling, I think the BBQ contest hook is set!!

Great Results Bossman !!! Congrats... 3rd place for a 2nd timer ?? Awesome.

6th place in ribs is not too shabby. I wouldn't move away from them just yet.. Look at your scores and see which category you're getting hurt in and make some tweaks and see how it goes.

I'd wet myself if I scored like that on my second comp.
Congratulations!

Bossman,

Like Vinny said, look at your scoresheet. Where are your low scores, Appearance, tenderness or taste? Work on that before you make any great changes. Congrats on you walks, keep up the good work. You're definitly on the right track.

Holy cow, Bossman! How many teams were in that contest? With four calls like that, I'd almost expect a GC! Tough competition! Congratulations on the calls and 3rd place finish!

Way to go Bossman! We changed to lion backs earlier this year and have been doing fairly well with them, although I'm not I would change - nothing wrong with 6th place.

Thanks this was the third year of the competition with a total of 14 teams. All the money was donated to a local charity. No cash prizes just trophys and awards. It was still a great time. Now I'm just wanting to get some more practice in for the next contest!
