I'll be in the Asheville/Bryson City area of NC in the next couple of weeks. Anyone know where I can get some legit whole hog or otherwise good BBQ eats down that way? Willing to go off the beaten path. Thanks.

My favorite Q-joint in Asheville is "Moe's Original Bar B Que"; 4 Sweeten Creek Road, Asheville, NC 28803 - (828 505-8282. Everything I had was pretty good, and the hushpuppies were outstanding! (On the East side of the Biltmore Village, on the same road that goes through the gate onto the Biltmore Estate)
"Little Pig BBQ"; 384 McDowell Street, Asheville, NC 28803 - (828 254.4253. Pretty good pork with a light smoke flavor.
"Luella's Bar-B-Que"; 501 Merrimon Ave, Asheville, NC 28804 - (828 505.RIBS. Might have just been a bad day or something, but I wasn't impressed. The pork was dry and chewy and didn't have much flavor at all. Just a hint of smoke and vinegar. Red dip was pretty good and complemented the pork well.
If you are looking for Ribs = "12 Bones Smokehouse"; 5 Riverside Dr., Asheville, NC 28801 - (828 253.4499. GOOD ribs, but the pork is lacking. POTUS/PBO likes this place.
Heading west from Asheville toward Bryson City -
"Fat Buddies Ribs & BBQ"; 193 Waynesville plz., Waynesville, NC 28786 - (828 456-6368. A wee bit dry & chewy, but with pretty good flavor.
"Dillsboro Smokehouse"; 403 Haywood St., Dillsboro, NC 28725 - (828 586.9556. Pork was cubed and dry and chewy with little flavor. Sauce was really good on the meat.

These`s a guy on Swannanoa River Road across from the Asheville Muni golf course in the side of a Shell gas station that has a little set-up called "WEBOS" It`s all to go and he is only open Tue`s - Fri 11-6 but he`s darn good.

The other one i go to is Okey Dokies in Swannanoa on US-70 they are pretty good.
Also Moe`s as mentioned above has probably the best chicken i have had anywhere around Asheville.

I just saw Webos a couple weeks ago for the first time, but it was too early for lunch. I'll check them out next time I'm in the area.
I really like Okey Dokies Smokehouse!!! Of course, that is the opposite way from where he is going.
