Default Pecan wood for smoking?

I have Pecan Trees on my farm, i was wondering if Pecan would work well for Smoking? Anybody have any experience with it? If so, what do you use it for?

I put in the coals of the grill when I do steaks to give the steaks a different taste.

Works great on chixcan as well. Here a link to a Wood Smoking Flavor Chart I saved. It list most of the woods used for smoking.

Pecan is in the top 2 or 3 woods used. I'm out, and I need some desperately!

Pecan is really good, especially for chicken. It's kinda like a milder version of hickory.

Wow! I didn't realize pecan trees could survive a Wisconsin winter. IMO, pecan is the best. I'd be happy to take a few truck loads off your hands if you don't want it.

it is terrible for cooking... ship it all to me... I'll pay the freight....lol. I use it for pork and chicken mostly, but it works with anything.

Pecan is my wood of choice for ribs. I have a hard time getting it here.

I don't smoke without pecan; it adds a nice balance to the rest of the woods that I use.

Pecan is the only thing I cook with. I have access to a lot of it and some of the other woods are harder to come by in my area.
