Default 2009 NBBQA conference (Austin)

Is anyone here going to the National BBQ Association's annual conference? This is a group geared more for the restaurant & catering pro, although they will have some things of interest to the backyarder & contest cook.

http://nbbqa.org/

They will have both MBN judging class and a KCBS judging class. Johnny Trigg & Rod Gray will be doing their Old School vs High Tech cooking class. There's a ServSafe certification for those who'd like to get theirs.

In the interest of disclosure, I will be one of the panelists speaking at this event. Was curious which Brethren I might meet at this event.

Wish I could be there but alas, cannnot.
Hope you have a good time and are able to meet up with those who can make it.
Look forward to updates as to how your panel discussion goes as well.
Enjoy.

I'm planning on taking the class Rod and Johnny are putting on.

Edit: I'm taking the class. Not sure how much else I'll do there. Shoot me a PM if you need any Austin info.

I'll be on the Savvy Marketing Plans panel. I was asked to take part based on an website creation article I wrote for the NBBQA's magazine earlier this year.

I attended last year's conference. Most of the seminars I listeneed to last year were good, with expert speakers sharing hard earned advice. The Succesful Caterering class that includes Joe Oaster on the panel is full of great advice from seasoned pros. They needed to move that seminar into a bigger room to accomodate all the people who wanted in. That particular one is a must-see for anyone who wants to get into, or improve, their catering business.

Jorge - looking forwared to meeting you!
jgh - not sure which places are on the bus tours (either day). I didn't fly in early enough last year to take part in the bus tours. Still debating whether to take off from my day job to do that this year.
Sypdermike and Bubba - hope you guys can make it.

Professor, they had the lineups of the places to be visited. The legends tour would be worth it.

Is their a lot of information for the backyarder?
