Default Organic No-Salt Seasoned Smoked Chicken Half (Prons)

If you're needing or choosing to watch your sodium intake and are constantly searching for alternatives you might want to give this new Costco Kirkland Signature Organic No-Salt Seasoning a try. I've tried almost everything off and on but have not found anything that I might want to use on a regular basis until now!

The Organic No-Salt Seasoning is a blend of 21 Organic spices and ingredients consisting of the following: onion, garlic, carrot, black pepper, red bell pepper, tomato granules, orange peel, parsley, bay leaves, thyme, basil, celery, lemon peel, oregano, savory, mustard seed, cumin, marjoram, coriander, cayenne pepper, citric acid, and rosemary. Costco is big on organic and as such all ingredients are Organic.

Rubbed the Half Chicken with Annie's Roasted Garlic EVOO for the glue and a liberal amount of the Organic No-Salt Seasoning on/under the skin. Popped it in the fridge for a couple of hours before placing it on the MAK 2 Star Wood Pellet BBQ Smoker-Grill preheated to SMOKE (180ºF) with Hickory pellets.

MAK 2 Star Setpoint to SMOKE for 2 hours before bumping the temperature to 325ºF until the Internal Temperature at the thickest part of the breast reaches 170ºF.

Meanwhile, decided to bake some Potatoes in the Char-Broil Smoker, Roaster, Grill (SRG). Scrubbed them clean, rubbed them with Annie's Roasted Garlic EVOO for the glue and seasoned them with Fagundes Seasoning.

Into the SRG on HIGH with the Lid OPEN for about 1½ hours until the spuds reached an IT of 210ºF.

The IT at the thickest part of the breast reached an IT of 170ºF after 3 hours and 10 minutes. Notice the color of that Chicken Half!! Rested the Chicken under a foil tent for 20 minutes while the Baked Potatoes finished up and I put the last touches on a little salad.

The money $shot ... Half of an Organic No-Salt Seasoned Hickory smoked Chicken Breast cooked to perfection, a Baked Potato topped with some butter, sour cream, and a dab of Salsa accompanied by a little salad ... Bon Appétit

The WOW factor of the Organic No-Salt Seasoning was at the top of the charts!! The first thing I noticed was that the No-Salt Seasoning did not overpower the natural flavors of the Chicken that was kissed with Hickory Smoke.

I was hoping for the best but was a bit skeptical until I tasted my first bite!! I have to hand it to Kirkland for this wonderful Organic No-Salt Seasoning. I crave salt like a vampire craves blood ... but I found the lack of salt did not diminish the flavor and enjoyment of the meal.

Worth trying for sure. I don't need to watch the sodium, but still might be nice anyway!

Cheers!
