Just put a stop payment on the check. No response to phone calls or emails, I'm out.

I just spoke to Sharri and she said that everything was still a go and that she will be sending out an email to all the teams later today or more likely tomorrow.

The reason for some checks being cashed and others not was due to the Treasurer being out the last couple of weeks.

Got a response about 5 mins after I sent email telling them I put a stop on the check. The email said she thought she had returned my call and I can still go. Funny how after multiple calls and emails I don't get a response until I tell them I put a stop on the check and then it only takes 5 mins for a response.

I did not read this thread before I emailed today.

Got a response. They are up to 22 teams. My check was cashed months ago.

NEBS was made aware of the lack of communication issue and we tried to contact the organizer on behalf of the teams. After receiving no response, we contacted the KCBS reps to see if they could help. They heard from Sharri, and she promised improved communication going forward. Hopefully the responses today are at least a start of that improved communication.

I emailed Sharri on this past Monday late afternoon for the first time in over a year. She responded within an hour.

If I can pick up enough stray beer cans The Basic BBQ Team is likely to jump in at the last minute.

Hey Pat,
You should just have been going though our trash for the last year! First time ever I have enough left over beer from 2 weeks ago to not have to go to the package store for this weekend.

I know the feeling, last year ribs hurt me more often than they helped me.

No. Last year they sent out a Cook's Packet, but this year they put it on the website instead. (She should really do both.)
