Default Any good BBQ in Waco?

We will be spending a few days in the Waco area, shortly, and we would be grateful for any recommendations as regards BBQ: wood-fired would be a plus.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. We will definitely be hitting up the Czech bakeries in the good city of West, on the way down.

Of course you can always do Rudy's but I have heard good things about Vitek's Market. Both are right of I-35 south of river and on east side of highway.

Never heard of any good bbq in Waco. I have lived 30 minutes south for 50 years.

So, if you were staying in Waco where would you go, in the general area, for good BBQ, other than to your own house, which we might be forced to do if we can't find a good joint........

Not sure why people from Texas are telling you to go to hot garbage at Rudy's and Vitek's.

Plan A) Guess Family Barbecue

Plan B) Helberg Barbecue

Both are downtown.

Everyone seems to love Miller's bbq in belton. You might want to listen to Rockinar. He seems to know about Waco. Waco has come a long way. It used to be a nice place to get murdered. I still don't like going there. The Gaines have made Waco a big tourist attraction so it's safer now.

Viteks if you like liquid smoke. That's the first thing you smell when you walk in.
