Default Weekend Butt and 1st Time Spares

Hey brethren Did another butt and decided to try some spares. I wasn't pleased with them but the wife said they were the best she has ever had.(dont know if it was to make me feel good or if it was true ) That said I am cooking on a brinkman vertical ( i know not the best cooker out there but it was free and Im working on a UDS) and temps were a bear to keep stable, but this is what I ended up with.

I think I have that same table and also have a pink bib on it from my newborn. I think we are in similar situations my friend

Good thing about a new baby I have found is my wife let me BBQ more than ever because she never feels like cooking anymore. More practice for me! Il be a comp cook by the time we have our second

Yeah since the baby has come along i have been using the smoker a lot more. Hence the want for a better cooker. Just got to pick up the drum. Built the charcoal basket already and have most of what is needed for the UDS except the drum. thinking this weekend I will take a little trip and pick up a drum. I will be posting pic of that build.

Probably taste better than any chain restaurant for a quarter of the price.
