Up here in the Pacific Northwest, Kroger's owns both QFC and Fred Meyer. Neither of those have those sales right now.

I do like the Smithfield pork butts at QFC, top quality, well trimmed, high yield.

Kroger's in NE Indiana just put spareribs on sale for $1.47. That's good at kroger and Scott's stores(owned by Kroger) through August 11. We'll go get some spares on Tuesday and save another 5%(Senior Day). That'll make them $1.40!:becky:

My Kroger NEVER has pork butts.
No one but Fiesta has pork butts in town, HEB might but they're like two or three towns over so I don't go over there unless they've got some crazy stupid brisket sale going.

Even my butcher doesn't carry pork butts, I'm waiting for La Michocana meat market to open up here, maybe they'll carry some pork butts.

Anyway, those are some pretty nice deals. Kavasovic's meat market had spares on sale last week for 1.49 a pound. God they were so good.

Where is this? Our Kroger in virginia has pork butts for $1.99! Or am I missing something?

Try Food Town in Houston for butts

jazzy...the Kroger near me never has actual "Boston Pork Butts", but they OFTEN do have the "Picnic Boston Butt". I love those - cook up great for pulled pork.

Hmm... I think I get all the reject kroger chit up this way... Not tryin' to hate, but everytime I open one of their cryo's, it smells like death, in fact there are 2 brands that I absolutely will not buy at any price if I can help it... kroger cryo packed pork and Prarie Fresh pork... different stores, different cuts, always a bit funky.
The ones that I've had to cook (nobody else had what I needed) turned out alright, didn't taste bad, but I just hate starting off with a product that ain't quite right.

Usually when I see a sale on kroger or prarie fresh, I take the add into a different store that carries excellent pork (seaboard, seaspray, sea something...?) and ask if they will match it, they usually do! :thumb:
