The cast Iron grate from my BGE thought it could fly.
So it jumped off my grate lifter and made its way into the wild blue.

When reality, and the forces of gravity set in, my poor grates flight was cut short. It all seemed as if it was happening in slow motion until the grate met the concrete and broke apart. I stood there in shock while holding a full tray of NY Strip steaks that needed to be cooked.

Murphy's BBQ Law was in full force.

hope you like carpaccio:-D
Sorry about your loss - that is two BGE cast iron grates in a week - yours and RTD's - bummer - I agree with the moment of silence.

How bad did it break? Can you salvage any of if? Put it on the factory grate for support if need be.

Bummer!!!

Break out the skillet, sear them babys and then finish 'em in the oven...

Time for the sectional one.

Was it a Green Egg lifter?
