Grilled Pickles???

Saw a couple posts from years back where some have grilled store bought pickles. But I ran across this link from Serious Eats that is following a recipe from Chris Lilly to grill the raw pickles before actually pickling them.

Sounds interesting.

All things snarky aside, seems like that would make for a pretty limp pickle.

I have recently made the Chris Lilly recipe. The pickles stayed pretty crisp despite being grilled. It added an interesting flavor to the pickles.
