Does anyone know if using furnace cement is toxic? I picked up a pint of the stuff but have concerns about using it.

The smoke should do it. Tenderquick will turn it a nice red though.
I'd check the MSDS before using it.

Nope...o.k. , but use it on the outside if you are squeemish.

I have not used it in rubs or finishing sauces, but do swear by it for repairing Earthenware Kamado's. My personal favorite is Hercules Regular Body High Heat furnace cement, the New Clean 'n Friendly Formula. Stock #35-515

So you patch from the outside, right? But it's not UDS cement, just furnace cement...and if it were toxic, then you would kill everyone in
your household, right?
