Default San Diego Restaurant/Coffee Shop Recommendations

I will be in San Diego in June for a week and have a couple of free evenings, so I am looking for recommendations for restaurants and coffee shops that I shouldn't miss. It doesn't have to be BBQ, in fact, not BBQ is probably preferred Also, I want to visit locally owned places, not chains. I can go to all of the chain restaurants I want at home (and usually don't )

I have looked at the older threads, but the most recent is 2017, and a lot can change in a couple of years.

Finally, I am staying near Waterfront Park, and a lot of activities will be at the Convention Center, and will not have a car. I can take an Uber, but walking distance would be best.

Thanks!

Thanks! I saw that one the map. I also saw a place called the Deck to Moonshine Flats that gets good reviews.

Bluewater Seafood; order at the counter and they will bring it to you. Really good fresh fish. It is also a seafood market.
https://bluewaterseafoodsandiego.com/

I'll second Hodads. We enjoyed the Ocean Beach location.
Also Pizza Port in OB if you like beer. Each location is a brewery. They have these fresh made multi-grain pretzels that my wife loved.
Southbeach Bar and Grill in Ocean Beach; good fish tacos and view of the ocean. https://southbeachob.com/

The Fish Market on Harbor Drive; on the water next to the aircraft carrier. Good seafood, go for happy hour. https://www.thefishmarket.com/location/san-diego/

If you're not FB friends with https://www.facebook.com/mercy.baron.9 yet, then you should definitely do this, and hit her up with your basic wishlist of cuisine during your stay.

Based on a few of her visits, my next trip to San Diego will include a stop at https://www.cohnrestaurants.com/coastersaloon

Thanks! Hodads looks like my kind of place!

OB isn't a bad Uber ride, so I may check that out, maybe on Sunday evening when I have more time.

I saw the Fish Market on Google Maps and saved that.

Friend request sent! I really don't have a cuisine wishlist :) I just enjoy finding local places. Coaster Saloon looks very cool! Hopefully I can fit that in.

Ron, went to SD last September and enjoyed Mexican food at Casa De Reyes in Old Town and seafood at Blue Water Seafood. Went to La Jolla for our anniversary and had a wonderful dinner at Duke's of La Jolla (Hawaiian food). Breweries visited were Stone, Belching Beaver and Modern Times.

Had met Chip (mtbchip here) at a couple of SoCal bashes and our best meal was steaks at his house. It was incredible getting to see them again.
