There is also a blog on www.sheepsheadbites.com featuring commentary from during the day etc. The awards ceremony was delayed for a couple hours due to a computer glitch.
I do know that there were a couple of unfortunate dqs in the chefs choice category.
Brian and I of Ma's 'Que Crew got a call for 8th place ribs and walked for 4th place chicken and taking 6th place overall was a nice surprise. Julie et al took 3rd place chicken, 8th place beef and 3rd place chili if I remember correctly. My traditional Texas Red chili entry was completely eaten up but Brooklyn did not vote for it very much. I have no other results in chili at all. It was a brutally cold day (28 degrees in the early am and it might have warmed up to the mid to high 30's....) Still, it was nice to see lots of friends and other brethren folks and help get the rust off for the upcoming season. Look for individual scores etc maybe at the Nebs site soon. Brian has our copy.

We had to scratch our initial chef choice because they were Lump crabcake, NEBS woulndn't allow it, because the crab was already cooked. We had to go shopping for a whole new dish. luckily there were some local stores and we were able to throw together a 1st place dish

Good to see everybody in Brooklyn! Why the hell didn't I wear a jacket!? It was a long afternoon waiting for the glitches to get worked out, but the NEBS folks kept their heads together to get it all fixed and the rioting and looting were minimal....

Congrats to everyone that walked, and really bummed about those dq's. I'm looking forward to seeing y'all again, though, sometime soon.....
