Getting ready to build a new cover for my patio 24'x20'
It's gonna attach to the existing gable on my roof. Shouldn't even be able to tell it's not the original build when it's done.

I know it's a bit overkill, but I was able to get a real nice deal on the beams, plywood and custom 1/4" steel brackets.

Main beams are 5 1/2"x10" and truss beams are 3 1/2"x5 1/2".

5/8" plywood for the roof sheating.

Got a load of 6" tongue and grooved Cedar coming for the ceiling and gonna have four lights on each side with separate dimmers.

Have a new set of Bose 251 outdoor speakers for tunes. Also going to add a few 110v outlets.

Here are a few pics of some of the materials and a shot of where it's gonna go. Forgot to take pics of the house to beam, and cement to beam brackets. I'll get them next time. Plan on cutting out existing 3" patio cement next week and pouring massive new footings with brackets.

Sitting outside uncovered is nearing an end.

Project got put on hold due to back surgery. Pretty much back on track now and should be completed in a week or so.

Will post lots of pics as soon a photobucket starts working properly for me....

Wow! Looks like it's going to be wicked!

High quality work and materials. Makes me miss my old carpentry days, but getting me inspired to cover my Q area with more than an umbrella!
Keep posting your progress!

We a nice flagstone patio With recessed lighting, speakers, ... However, my smokers would stain the flagstone and the smoke would ruin the roof. How will you redirect the smoke?

Got a big ole fan going in so maybe that will help with the smoke, if not i'm not gonna fret it. I have a brand new in the box pair of Bose 251 speakers going in. Not sure what lights i'm gonna go with yet, but wiring is already run.

That's some serious construction. And from here it looks like it is being done right. I'm guessing you're not the average weekend warrior. :thumb:
