Default Walking in Memphis

I’m at the Memphis airport, trying to process everything that has happened over the past few weeks as I prepare to head home.

I’ll go more into the whole story over in the Woodpile and keep this post on topic.

BBQ

2 days, 2 nights and 4 bbq joints

Summary:
We didn’t make it down to Memphis Barbecue Company, but we did hit......

Silky O’Sullivan’s: Not known for bbq, but they do serve tasteless (tasted like flash fried) ribs.

The Pig on Beale: touristy location, but best ribs of the trip

Central BBQ: Not sure why this one has a line.....
BBQ done poorly (pork shoulder, Pork ribs and brisket/roast beef)

Interstate BBQ:
Quite passable chopped pork shoulder sandwich

That was the BBQ report for the trip....

However bbq was just an afterthought for this trip and was not the main event....

Always wondered about Pig on Beale. Did you hit Gus's Fried Chicken?

Were the beer drinking goats sliding down the slide? Every time I've gone I missed them sliding down.

Saw the goats, but they weren’t a sliding

That's awesome, John. I need to get back down to Memphis soon.
I was at a BBQ joint on Beale and dont recall the name but it had old high school class photos on the wall. Did any of the ones you visited resemble that? Best BBQ nachos I've ever had. Thanks for the photos.

Well I don't know if I should be ashamed or proud to be the first to mention Miley Cyrus. That is her right?

Awesome finds! I hope to visit the place too! The bbq looks very delectable and I can't wait to get my hands on them!
