Grilled some burgers & brats for the 1st cook on the new Weber Performer. Like the way it feels. Only problem so far is the tool hooks. They are so thick, none of my tools that I like to use fit over the jumbo plastic hook. I either need new tools or a skinnier hook. Maybe, a hook on a hook. I also wish it had a paper towel roll holder on it. These may be my 1st mods. I let the charcoal burn off slowly to see how long the 2 trays would last at 225. The pretend slow & low went good for about 4 hours. Starting to drop.

I have that same version of the performer (mine is silver color) and the same problem with the fat hooks. i have some tools with leather loops on top and those work. i bought a hook attachment that hangs on the base and it works great for everything

Paper towel holder... hmm.. might not be a bad idea. I use bar mop towels at my grills and smoker instead of paper towels. I just toss them in the washer when I'm done...

congrats and what a fine way to break her in... She have a name yet?

Just by some chain at HD or Lowes, the kind that people use for a shop light or such. Loop around the tool handles, then loop onto the hooks.

Regarding the grill CONGRATS... Also, I am a bit envious.
Look at my sig to know why. ;-)

congrats on the performer. I would use paracord and just make loops to fit over the hooks. I like the paper towel holder idea!

Pick up some six inch electric wire ties at HD or Lowes and put them through the eyes/loops of your tools that don't fit. That'll hang 'em just fine on the Performer hooks.

I do 90% of my smoking and grilling on my pellet cooker but every now and then I fire up my good ole' Performer for a steak or burger. Kinda messy, but still one of the best all around cooking machines ever manufactured.
