Default Cooked some spares for the neighbors

Cooked some ribs today for the neighbors that put up with me all year long and also help to watch over the family when I'm out of town.

I was going to also throw on some sausage for them, but I forgot to thaw it out. Might fire up the pit again in a couple of days and have a second round of the giving.

Nothing special, just some spares. I trimmed all but one to St. Loius style as I normally do. I left thinnest rack whole. It's been so long since I cooked an untrimmed rack I decided to try it again.

That's my youngest helping rub up everything. I cooked the trimmings and gave them to my Dad and brother for beans... The last pic was my portion of the untrimmed rack.

Thanks all... I really enjoyed playing with fire again.

My helper in the pics is my 10yr old. She loves to cook! Now my 12yr old, well not so much. She don't mind eating it, but she has displayed no interest in the prep/cooking... So she get's to 'help' with the dishes!

Nice job James! Way to show true Christmas spirit.
I noticed that your pit has a Chuckwagon Cooker thermo. Was the pit built by Chuckwagon? I have a pit built by Chuckwagon, and can't seem to find any info about the company.

This pit was a home built job... It actually belongs to my father in law, but it lives with me. He bought it about 9 yrs ago from a farmer dude out around Grandbury, Tx who built it. Over the years, we've replaced the original firebox with 1/2" plate, added wood storage to the front and a few other minor things... I've never heard of Chuckwagon pits, but yours looks like they built a nice unit!
