Neighbor is selling his house and wants to part with this but isn't sure the value ... thoughts? Needs some sanding and paint for sure

I'd go as high as 400 that looks to be 3/16's or 1/4" Is it an OK Joe Longhorn or a Lyfe Thyme??

That looks like it is an older Brinkmann Cimmaron clone made out of 1/4" steel. The firebox is on the opposite side of a Brinkmann, so it's not that, but if you measure the steel and it is 1/4th inch I'd snag it. You really can't find these offset made out of anything but 1/8" steel new for less that 500 bucks these days. Looks like it will need some sandblasting, some high temp paint, and new grates, but that's about it. If you can get it for less than 100 bucks I'd say that would be a good deal once it is cleaned up. He's not gonna want to take it with him. They are heavy as fark. I'd offer 50 bucks up to a 150. I bought mine used for 350 ten years ago and it is a champ. If it is 1/8" steel, don't bother.

350-400 is what they sell for around here With an angle grinder brush 2-3 cans of high temp paint you've got a new stick burner.

1/4 inch steel 350-400
1/8 inch 125-250
Under 1/8" Chinese sheet metal 0-50

Good deal. Should be a brisket on there before summer is here.

you might want to rig up a plate for trying to distribute the heat/smoke a bit. That's gotta be pretty hot right next to the fire box. Maybe some makeshift tuning plates on fire bricks under the grates, so you can pull them and use it as a direct grill when needed?

Good score. That's An Oklahoma Joe Longhorn. Originally $399 from Academy Sports.

you got one heck of a deal , cut some tuning plates to even out the temp side to side and your good to go . I restored one like that awhile back if you want to see what I did search for Brinkmann Cimarron .

You have a link for the tuning plates or an example so I don't have to do them a couple times

here you go http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showthread.php?t=215332 what I did to get the right width is cut thick cardboard templates till you get them to fit right and then take your measurements to a metal fab shop to get cut and 1/8" to 1/4" thick plates will both work . you want the plates to be a around 1 1/2 to 2" below the grate level and it only cost me around $30 to get done .
