Did another batch of ribs, this time a father and son smoke day, I did the work while he got into anything he could.

Did a mustard rub down, then a dry rub, and let it sit wrapped in foil over night, put the ribs on today at 3pm, cooking temp was in the 240 range for most of the day, I wrapped the ribs at 5:30, unwrapped at 7:45ish and lightly coated them with a home made chipotle honey bbq sauce and allowed them to finish uncovered for about 20 minutes to get color and a nice glaze.

He's a pro eater lol. Ate a whole tongue taco worth of tongue in that picture.

I was digging through all my online pictures of us, and every one that isnt pro like is of me either pretending to eat him or making a weird face lol

Had to go back almost a year to find a normal one.

great looking little guy, he has a good focus on food.

Not bad on the ribs either

Nice ribs.

Teach him early, good job.

Started with a English hard cider, moved to the corona and finished on a newtown pippin cider.

My wife and I are both big foodies, make everything from scratch never waste anything. So far he has liked most everything we have tried giving him. From tongue, liver/spread, durian fruit, he loves jack fruit, come to think of it I can't think of anything he has turned down.

I don't mind durian (related to the jack fruit) but jack fruit is just nasty.

That's him helping me make pie crust when he was around 6 months. Was going to link the pictures here but its cute seeing the series of pictures (at the bottom) since it looks like hes rocking out rolling pin.

Grilling mushrooms, corn, and oysters, I normally eat them raw, wanted to try grilling the oysters for a change... I should have ate them raw. I know for next time.

Making salsa for this week. (always better after it sits a few days) Always char dried chilis outside unless you enjoy suffering.

Charred salsas are wonderful, used a drop on each oyster as with a tiny bit of lemon.

Yeah I've been training for awhile. Hopefully my son picks up on some or it lol.

I grew up in a non BBQ household. Only thing I remember being grilled was meatballs that were hockey pucks. Aka hamburgers that were super over worked and puffed up into round balls of meat.

Thanks to bad cooking from my mom. And the saying she always said if you don't like it, make your own. I learned how to cook. Hopefully my son gets a much better start than I did.

Speaking of cooking it's 11pm Saturday night and I'm making Naan bread for tomorrow's burgers. Trying a different style burger.

Living the dream brother! I have 4 wee ones under 9 - 2 boys 2 girls. For me, there's almost (ALMOST) nothing better than when my little people are interested in my BBQ. I LOVE it when they end up helping me "create" a rub, or recipe that we eat that night, or the next day. A slice of heaven on earth!
