Default lid for uds

I think i am about to start scrounging parts to make an UDS. Have been reading up on it but can't decide to try and get a kettle lid for it, or use the flat drum lid. Is there an advantage to either one? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Flat lid will let 1 rack. Weber lid 2. Either lid works well provided it seals.

Or build a lid from a donor and the drums lid.

there is one advantage i have found with the flat drum lid , for me
mine seals perfectly with the lid clamp and keep that urge to peek at bay

it seals fairly good with out the band but on overnight cooks it seems to maintain a better temp with the band

For me it came down to, does the kettle lid fit. Mine didn't. If it fits tight I would take advantage of it.
